Requirements

  • High School diploma required with knowledge of trigonometry and additional specific training on precision measuring instruments and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the Quality field
  • Minimum 2 years Torque measurement experience (preferably in vehicle assembly)
  • Minimum 2 years of in-process vehicle build monitoring and documentation
  • Minimum 2 years recent CMM Programming (preferably using PC-DMIS)
  • Minimum 2 years recent Romer Portable CMM inspections (Preferably using Polyworks)
  • Experience performing inspections using hand tools and precision instruments
  • Proficient reading blueprints and GD&T interpretations
  • Strong organizational and workload planning skills with ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Must have knowledge of mechanics, machining, and casting methods
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must possess sound written and oral communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Vehicle Inspection experience helpful
  • Blueprint reading, CAD interpretation and GD&T
  • Training for digital torque monitoring systems (Datamyte and/or Atlas Copco)

Responsibilities

  • Performs inspections of in-process builds on vehicle components, sub-assembly system, and complete assemblies to include torque measurement and documentation according to establish procedure
  • Approves or rejects items and documents inspection results as required
  • Responsible to work in a cross functional environment utilizing Polyworks, PC-DMIS, and Programming skills as applied to an Articulating Romer ARM and CMM
  • Responsible for performing precision inspection verifications on mechanical parts, components, assemblies, and materials
  • Complete reports of Receiving, In-process, and Final Vehicle inspection to communicate results
  • Communicates with internal customers as required to resolve inspection, engineering, and manufacturing challenges
  • Performs Final Vehicle Inspections to established documentation and training routine and documents results
  • Reviews Quality Assurance Procedures and assists or performs internal audits, as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
