About The Position

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for ensuring that Listen Technologies products maintain established quality, performance, and reliability standards. This role combines hands-on electronics repair and diagnostics with structured quality audit functions, requiring an experienced technician who can identify root causes of product failures, document findings clearly, and work directly with engineering to drive corrective action. The ideal candidate brings a background in electronics repair — ideally in audio or AV equipment — and a genuine passion for product quality.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of hands-on electronics repair or testing experience, including component-level diagnostics.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in soldering, desoldering, and PCB inspection and rework.
  • Experience reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with electronic test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Experience in audio, AV, or assistive listening technology systems (strongly preferred as required).
  • Ability to perform structured root cause analysis and document findings in a clear, traceable manner.
  • Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated quality-first mindset.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Electronics Technology or related field preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with assistive listening systems, hearing loop technology, or RF audio products.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or IEC quality management standards and audit processes.
  • CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or equivalent AV industry certification.
  • Experience with ECR/CAR processes or other formal corrective action systems.
  • Background in a manufacturing, production, or repair depot environment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair returned or defective units at the component level, including soldering and board-level rework.
  • Conduct QA audits of production output and finished goods inventory, documenting findings and trends.
  • Perform root cause analysis on recurring failures and document findings in structured failure reports.
  • Initiate, track, and follow up on Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Corrective Action Reports (CARs).
  • Maintain accurate records of repair activity, test results, and defect trends using internal systems.
  • Collaborate with the Applications Engineering Manager and product engineering teams to communicate failure patterns and support product improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain calibration records and ensure test equipment is properly maintained and documented.
  • Support continuous improvement of QA processes, test procedures, and inspection criteria.
