About The Position

This is a "hands on" non-production operation role responsible for ensuring that all SSOP and Quality Programs are followed correctly and completed. The technician will establish and maintain a good working relationship with U.S.D.A., provide a resource to operations and sanitation personnel, and complete all records pertaining to the Quality Assurance SSOP Program. This role also involves monitoring and checking freezer/cooler storage areas, plant AQL levels, and enforcing MTP’s GMP and Safety policies. Clerical functions for Quality Assurance, such as filing and making copies, are also part of the responsibilities. The position requires perfect attendance, the ability to follow instructions, a strong work ethic, and the capacity to give direction and take action when needed. A key aspect is the ability to implement all rules and procedures established by the SSOP and HACCP programs and work closely with USDA. The role demands attention to detail, clear communication in English, and the ability to work safely and collaboratively in a team environment. The technician must wear all necessary Personal Protective Wear, including Protective Eye Wear, Ear Plugs, Hard Hat/Bump Cap, Hair Net, White Coat (Clothing Protector), Gloves (Plastic/Cotton), and a Plastic Apron. Physically, the role requires the ability to twist, bend, reach, and stand/walk for 8 hours in a wet, cold environment, and lift up to 50 lbs.
