About The Position

The Quality Assurance Technician II performs daily product- and process-quality activities, including process audits, data entry, data collection, and analysis. The role uses quality data to support continuous improvements in product and process quality. The technician investigates in-process production issues, supports after-sales quality work and inspections, and handles prescription-return inspection and documentation. The position is listed as full-time and on first shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in optical manufacturing or optical retail.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Basic optical knowledge related to PD, power, cylinder, axis, and frame inspection.
• Proficiency with FocoVision equipment and ANSI inspection tools.
• Proficiency in MS Excel.

Nice To Haves

• Some college coursework.
• ABO Certification.
• Experience with process or product improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and concepts.

Responsibilities

• Research and resolve in-process production issues, involving after-sales leadership for additional testing when needed.
• Collect, enter, summarize, and report quality data.
• Assist the after-sales team with quality issues and inspections as needed.
• Assist with frame-fit and lens-manufacturability issues.
• Communicate with customer returns representatives regarding prescription returns.
• Implement product audits.
• Support inbound and outbound prescription inspection activities.
• Perform process and quality audits as needed.
• Verify prescriptions on prescription returns.
• Use optical tools to evaluate lenses.
• Enter return-related data and notes into the returns system.
