About The Position

The purpose of this position is to provide guidance and support to the Quality Department responsibility and to provide a work environment where coworkers have the tools, training and leadership to build a quality product and become effective Quality Inspectors. The QA Lead's goal is to assist in improving profits & cash flow through process improvements and ensuring the highest quality product is being delivered to the customer. The QA Lead will conduct themselves in a professional manner and at all times be responsive and respectful. Perform all tasks involved within Quality Assurance. This includes but is not limited to the duties and responsibilities listed below.

Requirements

  • Clear understanding of Killdeer Mountain Manufacturing's Quality Management System and procedures.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of software used for specific tasks.
  • Demonstrate appropriate skill in communication with customers, suppliers, and fellow employees.
  • Detail-oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Good attendance.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and/or overtime.

Nice To Haves

  • Acquire an IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Specialist certificate within six months of starting the position.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain current knowledge of customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Continuously stay aware of customer specification changes/updates.
  • Research, investigate, and interpret customer specifications, drawings, and related procedures/instructions.
  • Ensure all First Article Inspection (FAI) requirements are met, including completing FAI forms and documentation per AS9102.
  • Communicate all quality issues to the Quality Manager(s).
  • Monitor inspection results (First Pass Yield) to identify quality trends.
  • Implement and maintain a Quality Improvement Plan to identify root causes of quality matters and align with KMM Quality department goals.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and customer requirements, addressing compliance issues.
  • Monitor and report Quality Assurance scheduling and personnel issues.
  • Develop and maintain the Quality Assurance Training Matrix.
  • Assist Receiving and Final Inspection as needed.
  • Understand and apply KMM Root Cause Corrective Action disciplines, assisting and facilitating Corrective/Preventative Action activities.
  • Perform Audits and Verifications when required.
  • Communicate effectively with Production Team Leads, Operators, Trainers, Manufacturing Engineers, Program Managers, Quality Managers, and Source Inspectors/Customer Representatives.
  • Take a lead role in team problem-solving and continuous improvement projects.
  • Make decisions independently when necessary.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Adhere to all KMM safety policies and practices and manufacturer recommendations for equipment operation.
  • Assist with LEAN manufacturing by teaching, coaching, mentoring, facilitating Lean initiatives, identifying process improvement ideas and metrics, compiling metrics, informing Liaisons & Practitioners on projects, and coordinating Lean training.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
  • Carry out assigned tasks with responsibility and authority.
  • Be involved with the FOd prevention committee and potentially take on the role of FOd focal.
  • Work under HRDJ??? if chosen for the role of KMM FOd focal.
