About The Position

Killdeer Mountain Manufacturing (KMM), an award-winning Tier 1 manufacturer of electronic components for the military and aerospace industries, is seeking a Quality Assurance Team Lead. The role provides guidance and support to the Quality Department and helps create an environment where coworkers have the tools, training, and leadership needed to produce quality products and become effective Quality Inspectors. The QA Lead contributes to improved profits and cash flow through process improvements and by ensuring high-quality products are delivered to customers. The role requires professionalism, responsiveness, respectfulness, independence, and sound judgment when immediate supervisory input is unavailable. The QA Lead performs Quality Assurance tasks, including interpreting customer specifications and drawings, completing First Article Inspection documentation, monitoring inspection results and compliance, supporting corrective and preventive action, and performing audits. The position also supports Lean manufacturing initiatives through coaching, facilitation, metrics, project coordination, and training. The employee may participate in the FOD prevention committee and may be asked to serve as the FOD focal, with additional responsibilities outlined in KMM's FOD Prevention Plan. The position requires a clear understanding of KMM's Quality Management System and procedures, proficient computer skills, effective communication, attention to detail, and the ability to handle stressful situations. If applicable, the employee is expected to acquire an IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Specialist certificate within six months of starting. The role may require use of digital calipers and pin gauges, and daily use of a computer and standard office equipment. Pre-employment drug screening is required.

Requirements

Clear understanding of Killdeer Mountain Manufacturing's Quality Management System and procedures.
Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook.
Working knowledge of software used for specific job tasks.
Effective communication skills with customers, suppliers, and fellow employees.
If applicable, acquire an IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Specialist certificate within six months of starting the position.
Detail-oriented with strong attention to detail and the ability to handle stressful situations.
Good attendance.
Ability to work flexible hours and/or overtime.
Ability to move freely around the facility to perform job duties.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Pre-employment drug screen required.

Responsibilities

Maintain current knowledge of customer requirements and industry standards, and stay aware of changes or updates to customer specifications.
Research, investigate, and interpret customer specifications, drawings, and related procedures and instructions.
Ensure First Article Inspection requirements are met, including completion of FAI forms and documentation in accordance with AS9102.
Communicate quality issues to Quality Manager(s).
Monitor inspection results and First Pass Yield to identify positive and negative quality trends.
Implement and maintain a Quality improvement plan that identifies root causes of quality issues and aligns with Quality Department goals and strategies.
Monitor adherence to company policies, procedures, and customer requirements, and take steps to address compliance issues.
Monitor and report Quality Assurance scheduling and personnel issues.
Develop and maintain the Quality Assurance Training Matrix.
Assist Receiving and Final Inspection as needed.
Apply KMM Root Cause Corrective Action disciplines and assist with, or facilitate as required, internal and external Corrective/Preventative Action activities.
Perform audits and verifications when required.
Communicate with Production Team Leads, Operators, Trainer, Manufacturing Engineers, Program Manager, Quality Manager, and Source Inspectors/Customer Representatives.
Take a lead role in team problem solving and continuous improvement projects.
Wear task-appropriate personal protective equipment and follow KMM safety policies and manufacturer recommendations for equipment and tools.
Support Lean manufacturing by teaching, coaching, and mentoring; facilitating Lean initiatives; identifying process-improvement ideas and metrics; working with Lean Liaisons to compile metrics; keeping Liaisons and Practitioners informed about projects; and coordinating Lean training for the area.
Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
Participate in the FOD prevention committee and, if assigned, perform FOD focal responsibilities described in the current revision of KMM-044 FD Prevention Plan.
