About The Position

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for partnering with the rest of the organization to consistently supply products that exceed customer and consumer expectations. The QA Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily activities of the QA Leads and technicians. This role supervises Plant Quality System requirements, reviews activities to ensure conformance to specifications, and monitors and guarantees that products are being manufactured in conformance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety Practices. The position provides training and support, as well as enforcement to the Food Safety Program. The QA Supervisor investigates and communicates with the QA Manager all departmental and Plant issues, and supervises the daily activities of the technicians, assuring them of proper training in Safety, Food Safety and Quality Systems. Additionally, the role reviews and updates work aids (instructions, charts, manuals, bulletins, code date calendars, etc.) essential for verification of product quality, assists in special projects and generates summary of projects’ performance, and communicates effectively with the department, plant, and Corporate Personnel. The QA Supervisor also takes disciplinary actions and investigates incidents when required, and performs QA Manager Duties and responsibilities in his/her absence.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent required.
  • 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment required.
  • With a minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity or 4 years as a Lead in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Quality Systems experience
  • Knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety Programs
  • Computer Literacy, Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, Chemical, Engineering, Microbiology strongly preferred.
  • Food/Beverage manufacturing preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) desirable
  • Knowledge of statistics is preferred.
