About The Position

This position resides in the Cannabis and Alcohol Regulation Division of Department of Revenue. Duties include developing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard division assets. This includes assuring compliance with regulations and professional standards. The position acts as a quality assurance specialist by reviewing division work, creating processes and procedures, and recommending business process improvements based upon internal reviews. The incumbent is also the point of contact and is responsible for communicating and coordinating all external audits for the division. The position will recommend training curriculum based on internal and external review findings. The position does not supervise other staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, public administration, or related field.
  • Three years of job-related work experience with audits, compliance, quality control/assurance, data analysis, or investigative experience.
  • Knowledge of program support processes, procedures and methods.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and database systems.
  • Skills in research and analysis.
  • Skills in quality assurance methods.
  • Skills in accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Skills in conflict resolution & customer service.
  • Skills in Microsoft programs and other data base applications.
  • Skills in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation.

  • Provide timely customer service.
  • Handle multiple priorities under deadlines.
  • Work independently with little supervision.
  • Perform in-depth research.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be a primary resident of Montana.
  • Must meet and sustain Department of Revenue telework eligibility requirements and supervisor's approval to participate in the DOR Telework Program.
  • Eligibility for employment will be subject to a Criminal Background Check.
  • Tax status must be current.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver's license with less than 12 conviction points in the most recent completed 36 months.
