About The Position

Strategies to Empower People (STEP) is hiring a full-time Quality Assurance Specialist to help ensure our agency is providing quality services and supports to the developmentally disabled adults we serve. This position specifically supports individuals who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE SKILLS ARE REQUIRED! The Quality Assurance Specialist conducts on-site quality assurance inspections in the homes of the clients we support. This position is responsible for making sure that our agency is meeting internal policies and procedures as well as maintaining compliance with state and federal laws, regional center contracts, and person-centered practices when it comes to the homes of the people we support. This position will conduct on-site quality assurance checks and audits, interviews, and is required to meet a variety of documentation requirements both internally and for different outside entities. The Quality Assurance Specialist plays an important part in making sure that the developmentally disabled adults we serve are living full, independent lives in their own homes!

Requirements

  • Must be 18+ with a high school diploma, GED, or Certificate of Completion.
  • May be required to provide CA Driver License, current auto insurance, and maintain a clear Motor Vehicle Record for positions that require driving.
  • Must have American Sign Language skills (moderate to fluent).
  • Minimum one year of experience in Supported Living Services field or related field(s).

Responsibilities

  • Conducts on-site quality assurance inspections in the homes of the clients we support.
  • Ensures the agency is meeting internal policies and procedures.
  • Maintains compliance with state and federal laws, regional center contracts, and person-centered practices.
  • Conducts on-site quality assurance checks and audits.
  • Conducts interviews.
  • Meets a variety of documentation requirements both internally and for different outside entities.
  • Assists with on-site training for staff.
  • Completes, reviews, and submits Special Incident Reports and Adult Protective Services reports to the appropriate parties as needed.
  • Compiles and presents a variety of reports and data sets.
  • Directs staff as needed and provides objective feedback and corrective action.
