About The Position

This position provides quality assurance support for the Quality Assurance (QA) team. The role involves performing routine job duties that require the use of standard techniques and procedures. The specialist will be responsible for planning and preparing quality assurance documents and procedures, assisting project personnel with quality-related matters, and performing surveillance and inspections. They will inspect materials and equipment for compliance, assist in developing project quality plans, and serve as a liaison for quality matters. The role also involves decision-making that significantly impacts project quality policies and programs, preparing audit schedules and reports, and acting as a lead quality auditor. Additionally, the position is responsible for technical and administrative functions, providing mentoring and direction to direct reports, and maintaining project QA/PA records. Safety is paramount, requiring adherence to all approved safety policies, procedures, and regulations, with active participation in Safety Work Groups.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning and preparation of quality assurance documents and procedures and assisting all levels of project personnel in quality related matters
  • Performs surveillance and inspections in accordance with site or department procedure. Provides the results of these assessments and proposed corrective actions, if needed, to line management
  • Inspects material and equipment for compliance to purchase order specification and applicable quality requirements
  • Assists project management in developing an orientation program to ensure project teams are familiar with the requirements of the Project Quality Plan
  • Liaison with individuals and units within or outside division or project structures
  • Decision making authority and recommendations which have a significant impact on project quality policies and programs
  • Serves as the project QA representative on medium to large projects as assigned (Sr. Specialist)
  • Serves as the project QA Lead on projects as assigned (Lead)
  • Serves as the QA Manager for small to medium sized projects as assigned (Lead)
  • Prepares project audit schedules, discipline activity plans for the QA function, and audit reports (internal and external), noting nonconformance’s and verifying effective corrective action
  • Acts as lead quality auditor, and follows up on audit findings and corrective actions
  • Responsible for technical and administrative functions (e.g., planning, organizing, interpreting, coordinating, and executing division and project assignments)
  • Provides mentoring/people development for direct reports
  • Provides assigned technical, administrative or functional support to the management team
  • Responsible for providing technical and administrative direction to direct reports
  • Responsible for planning and execution of a wide variety of technical and administrative assignments
  • Assists in the maintenance of project QA/PA records for all phases of the project
  • Performs duties complex in nature
  • Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe manner
  • Actively participates in Safety Work Groups
