About The Position

The Quality Assurance Specialist ASP will provide safe, timely, and environmentally sound Ammunition and Explosives (AE) Inspection service for all assigned ASP locations, ammunition transfer and holding points (ATP's), and load storage areas to include visual (physical) inspections, damage in transit (DIT), receipt inspections (RI) and periodic inspections (PI). Shall assist in the performance of AE logistics, safety functions, tests, readiness inspections and combat load to support supply readiness programs and quality control activities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two (2) years of specialized ammunition-handling.
  • Completed training for Army Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 89B3O/4O, Ammunition Specialist or have equivalent training.
  • Ability to multitask and make quick decisions as needed.
  • Abiliy to quickly grasp an understanding of the needs of the organization serviced.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers, management, clients and all others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Posssess excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to complete and prioritize tasks on multiple concurrent projects within given timeframes.
  • Discretion and trustworthiness due to frequent contact with confidential material.
  • Knowledge of the Army Supply Systems outlined in AR 710-2, DA Pamphlet 710-2-1 and AR 19-11 as well as must be able to obtain the following Ammunition Learning Ce1iifications; Ammo-JO Ammo Quality Assurance, Ammo-45 Intro to Ammunition, Ammo-54 Risk Management, Ammo-63 Explosive Safety, Ammo-64 Class V Issue Turn-In and Residue Processing, Ammo-67 Hazardous Familiarization and Safety Transportation, Ammo-68 Military Munitions, Ammo-75 Ammo Physical Security, Ammo-76 Identification of Ammo, Ammo-78 Ammo Publications, Ammo-97 Munitions History Program (MHP), and Ammo-112 Ammunition & Explosive Storage.
  • Ability to pass Ammo 62 (Technical Transportation of Hazardous Materials) upon admission.

Responsibilities

  • Verify materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
  • Process ammunition received from Anmesty Box or turned in as Found on Installation (FOI) by units.
  • Conduct ammunition surveillance inspections and classify for serviceability; reclassify munitions showing deterioration to appropriate Condition Code.
  • Ensure ammunition is properly packaged and marked for storage and transport.
  • Process Ammunition Inspection Records (DSR) (DA Form 3022-R) (ACR) (DA Form 2415).
  • Process Unit Turn-ins which include inspection of ammunition items IAW DA PAM 742-1 and other applicable publications or drawings; verifying and repackaging ammunition items and components; providing Quality Control of standard and non-standard markings and light containers (less than quantity package) and assign condition codes to ammunition items.
  • Conduct required inspections of the stockpile i.e., PI, DIT, Initial receipt inspections, pre-issue inspections, motor vehicle inspections and surveillance of Unit turn-ins.
  • Ensures all processes are performed by all applicable regulations.
  • Perform all duties in an effective and efficient manner.
