About The Position

State Street Bank and Trust Company is seeking a Quality Assurance (Software Testing Engineer) to play a key role on the Know Your Customer (KYC) suite of applications. The primary responsibility will be supporting and leading a team through the Application Testing Lifecycle. This role involves close collaboration with the development team and KYC Solutions. The ideal candidate will have proven experience testing complex applications, with knowledge of the Know Your Customer regulatory domain. Familiarity with the latest trends and best practices in the testing industry is expected. Specific duties include driving testing and test automation coverage for KYC applications, enhancing testing processes with new tools and strategies, working with developers and QA members to run test suites and research errors, collaborating with the support group to reproduce production problems and identify gaps in the regression test suite, implementing metrics to measure project quality, ensuring testing efforts align with business needs and industry standards, ensuring the testing team is appropriately trained for future needs, and defining and deploying a robust testing framework with suitable infrastructure. Part-time telecommuting is permitted according to company policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science or related field
  • 5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills along with close attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a high paced environment, and to organize and prioritize work
  • Strong working knowledge of financial services and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations
  • Experience with waterfall and agile SDLC methodologies
  • Proven experience testing complex applications
  • Knowledge of the Know Your Customer regulatory domain
  • Hands-on with testing methodologies, automation techniques, integration testing
  • Solid understanding of performance testing

Responsibilities

  • Drive testing and test automation coverage for the Know Your Customer applications
  • Find ways to enhance testing processes with new tools, strategies or techniques
  • Work closely with developers and quality assurance members to run test suites and research errors
  • Work with the support group to reproduce production problems and identify gaps in the regression test suite
  • Implement metrics to effectively provide feedback and measure project quality
  • Ensure testing efforts are aligned with business needs and industry standards
  • Ensure future needs of a specific skill set requirement for a project are addressed by ensuring the testing team is appropriately trained
  • Define and deploy robust testing framework, ensuring suitable testing infrastructure to support this framework
