About The Position

This role is generally responsible for supervision and technical direction over the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Team. It coordinates lessons learned, process improvements, and Quality training efforts. Work at this level requires extensive experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control and will be performed under minimal supervision. Primary responsibilities include prioritizing work, scheduling plans, and following up on directed assignments. The role assists the Quality Assurance Leader in promoting and growing quality awareness within the organization, administering the quality assurance system, and providing training as necessary. This includes presenting Hargrove Management System (HMS) training, maintaining quality assurance training records, and developing written work processes (procedures, flow-charts, checklists, etc.) to support the HMS. The position also assists the Quality Assurance Leader in Lessons Learned and Customer Satisfaction efforts, conducts quality audits, documents results, implements root cause analysis, and issues audit reports in a timely manner. It involves logging and tracking audit finding resolutions, identifying performance issues and areas of non-conformance, and assisting Discipline Resource Leaders, Project Managers, and other Department Team Leaders with developing corrective action plans and preventative action strategies. The role prepares project-specific quality plans, coordinates and performs vendor surveillance activities and audits/inspections for projects, keeps leadership informed on quality performance, ensures quality records are maintained, and maintains corrective action plans related to quality assurance. It also develops reports to support, monitor, and track improvement progress against planned corrective actions, assists Industry Leaders with alignment of client expectations, facilitates feedback surveys, encourages team members to recognize outstanding performance, and assists the team in growing into a high-performance team through various alignment activities. Additionally, it implements a Value Engineering Program that tracks/documents cost savings ideas and occasionally travels to other Hargrove offices to perform quality assurance audits and/or training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
  • 3 or more years as a Provisional Auditor or one (1) year as a Lead Auditor is preferred.
  • Hands on knowledge of QA/QC practices related to heavy industrial EPC project execution.
  • Working knowledge of Industry Codes and Standards including but not limited to ASME, API, AWS, NFPA, NACE, IEEE and NEC.
  • Ability to effectively present Quality Management/Engineering Quality Assurance Training to groups ranging from 5 to 20+ people.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Experience in and a thorough knowledge of construction work methods, practices and codes and standards.
  • Proven ability to monitor industrial contractor project performance and to verify that specifications and quality standards are met.
  • Proven ability to analyze quality assurance data and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Proven ability to audit and compile quality records.
  • Proven ability to effectively interface directly with clients.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and innovative thinking style.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead a small team to deliver on commitments.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification/Training for ISO 9000/Lead Auditor, Special Practices (NDE; Welding), Vendor Surveillance Management and Construction Activities Inspection Methods is preferred.
  • Certification of successful completion of ASQ or RABQSA Auditor Training is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with turnover tracking tools is preferred.

  • Maintain corrective action plans related to quality assurance and develop reports to support, monitor, and track improvement progress.
  • Assist Industry Leaders with alignment of client expectations and facilitate feedback surveys.
  • Encourage all team members to recognize outstanding performance.
  • Assist the team to grow into a high-performance team through various alignment activities.
  • Implement a Value Engineering Program that tracks/documents cost savings ideas.
  • Occasionally travel to other Hargrove offices to perform quality assurance audits and/or training.
