About The Position

As a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst II, you will be responsible for providing Quality Assurance (QA) oversight for government contractor performance and procedures in support of the Big Safari Special Program Office (SPO). This role is intended to deliver government quality assurance decision-making authority across aircraft modifications, mission-system integrations, fielding activities, depot-level efforts, and sustainment operations unique to the rapid-acquisition modification work orders (WOs), technical directives, engineering change orders (ECOs), and installation procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum Clearance Required: Top Secret/SCI
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position necessitates an active U.S. Government Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens are not eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations, and illegal drug use.
  • Must be willing to travel to CONUS/OCONUS locations as needed to satisfy customer requirement.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years' specialized system Quality Assurance experience in knowledge of operating policies and procedures of both internal and external quality-related activities such as program management, contractors' production engineering, workload planning, procurement, or supply and skill to coordinate quality assurance plans and functions with these activities.
  • Knowledge of assigned aeronautical systems and equipment including critical quality characteristics, manufacturing methods, special processes, functional relationships among components and subsystems, and test and measurement techniques and other related work experience.
  • Effectively manages assigned office communications, contracts, and administration using all available maintenance standardization QA processes to maximize support to managers, supervisors, or associated project activities at all levels of responsibility.
  • Technical proficiency in FSAM maintenance analyses, evaluations, key functions, and resolving issues is required.
  • Aptly proficient in presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to travel to CONUS/OCONUS locations as needed to install equipment, complete maintenance bulletins (MB), update software sets and provide customer support to end users.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality process reviews and inspections on contractor-performed aircraft and system modifications.
  • Manage discrepancies outside of contractual definition for accurate execution of repairs (O&A), component replacements including physical inspection of aircraft and system structures, avionics installations, cable routing, connector terminations, software/hardware integration points, equipment mounting, environment/EMI considerations, and system functionality following modifications including: Surveillance of modification efforts, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, schematics, interface control documents (ICDs), and system integration requirements, contract execution, etc.
  • Assessment of contractor inspection processes, tool control, FOD prevention, safety practices, work documentation accuracy, and adherence to AS9100/ISO 9001-based quality systems.
  • Evaluation of technical documentation accuracy through verification and validation activities, including functional checkouts, continuity tests, software loads, hardware installations, system-level test events, etc.
  • Review and analysis of non-conformance findings (NCs), vendor quality compliance, and deficiency reports (DRs) to identify recurring issues, trace root causes, advise on corrective/preventive actions, etc.
  • Provide the government with independent recommendations on configuration audits, installation quality, mission-system readiness, acceptance criteria for meeting contract completion, test discrepancy resolutions, and suitability for operational fielding.
  • Analyze contractor quality metrics, process capability data, and inspection findings to advise Big Safari leadership on risks impacting schedule, airworthiness, integration timelines, and mission readiness.
