About The Position

We're looking for a Quality Assurance Program Manager to oversee and perform quality assurance and quality control reviews of design drawings, specifications, and documents produced during the engineering design process for data center builds. This role ensures regulatory, legal, and security compliance across a large portfolio of projects, working closely with Engineering, Power and Cooling (PAC), Security, Controls, and Commissioning teams, as well as external design consultants. This is a program management role, not a traditional project management role. You'll manage several hundred projects at once — typically with only about 10% active in any given week — so success depends on staying organized across a large portfolio rather than running a single project start to finish. Project management skills are still essential, just applied differently: prioritization, tracking, and stakeholder coordination across many moving pieces rather than deep focus on one.

Requirements

  • Degree in architecture, engineering, or a construction management background is strongly preferred; strong hands-on experience that clearly demonstrates equivalent skills may offset the degree requirement
  • 4+ years of experience as a project engineer on large commercial design and construction projects, or 4+ years in the design or construction industry
  • Experience with design and construction management software such as Autodesk BIM 360, Bluebeam, and Procore
  • Experience with collaborative management systems
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings across all disciplines (electrical, mechanical, architectural, and others)
  • Comfortable working entirely in digital formats — this role involves reviewing thousands of sheets and pages of issuances, with no reliance on printed copies
  • Strong attention to detail, including consistency in your own work product
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Knowledge of the scope and sequencing of a design and construction project lifecycle
  • Strong written and organizational skills, including experience writing functional and technical specifications

Nice To Haves

  • Individuals who are excited to explore, adopt, and evangelize AI tools and methodologies.
  • Experience in AI or a proven track record of rapidly learning and mentoring others on emerging tech.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage documentation and workflows across one or multiple project clusters, engaging the right stakeholders to raise the quality and coherence of the final package
  • Perform quality review of technical documentation for accuracy and contract compliance
  • Serve as subject matter expert for other quality engineers on process questions and decisions
  • Support design managers in preparing complete, accurate documentation across design phases and construction handoff, including drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and calculations
  • Manage project archiving, tracking, processing, filing, naming standards, and versioning
  • Provide training and tactical support to internal and external partners
  • Prepare ad hoc reports on project progress and KPIs
  • Drive process improvement initiatives end to end, from requirements gathering through implementation and training
  • Collaborate with technical teams in a fast-paced environment while raising the bar on documentation quality
  • Act as configuration analyst / system owner for design documents
  • Lead both short-term process fixes and longer-term process redesign
  • Maintain confidentiality around sensitive documentation
  • Conduct audits to confirm processes are being followed
