About The Position

This Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) position supporting maintenance, overhaul and repair (MRO) is located in Shelton, CT. The QAM is responsible for all aspects of quality supervision of inspection hourly associates for component, detail, processing and non-destructive inspection. The position will report to the Shelton O&R Quality Manager in the RMS Sikorsky line of business. The QAM will be the primary site POC for daily operations support. The QAM will provide leadership to the site Quality Supervisors(QS) by supporting them with their responsibilities, which include leveraging the collective bargaining unit agreement, driving and holding employees accountable to the General Rules of Conduct, having a comprehensive understanding of all work and providing daily status, managing time and attendance records and balancing overtime offerings, reviewing and reacting to hourly work force labor hour metrics, driving team member adherence to ESH Cardinal Rules, 6S housekeeping standards, and FOD program standards, and identifying training gaps and working with training personnel to close gaps. Additional responsibilities include managing collaboration efforts with DCMA for contract statement of work compliance, maintaining a collaborative relationship with Local 1150 leadership, managing the strategic training and skill development of hourly associates and supervisors, managing the quality team tooling, equipment and facility needs, supporting the execution of applicable Lockheed Martin business objectives, and identification and implementation of process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience with a proven track record of leading teams, developing talent, and driving results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Manufacturing in Aerospace or DOD working environment.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and multiple tasks simultaneously is essential for success in this role.
  • Experience developing and maintaining positive working relationships with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise inspection hourly associates for component, detail, processing and non-destructive inspection.
  • Provide leadership to site Quality Supervisors (QS).
  • Manage collaboration efforts with DCMA for contract statement of work compliance, non-conforming material, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with Local 1150 leadership.
  • Manage the strategic training and skill development of the hourly associates and supervisors.
  • Manage the quality team tooling, equipment and facility needs.
  • Work with leader on long term planning and capital requests.
  • Support the execution and achievement of all applicable Lockheed Martin, RMS and RMS Sikorsky business objectives.
  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives that support the Quality Organization’s key performance measurements, vision and strategy.
