About The Position

The Quality Assurance Manager provides leadership in the development, training, execution, and verification/validation of all quality systems. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory, customer, and corporate programs, and leads and participates in regulatory, customer, and internal audits. The manager is responsible for developing, training, and maintaining plant Food Safety and Quality programs, acting as the primary contact for internal and external customers, and investigating consumer and customer complaints with written communication regarding findings. Additionally, the role involves developing and monitoring plant sanitation and product safety programs to ensure a safe and wholesome product supply, leading teams through product recall management, and ensuring a safe work environment. The manager will also coordinate activities of engineers and contractors for GMP compliance during construction and work with vendors to correct noncompliance issues. This position supports and maintains Food Safety and Quality Programs, proactively identifying and executing continuous improvement opportunities in safety, food safety, quality, productivity, and sanitation, and participates in all Quality and Safety audits and annual certifications.

Requirements

  • Must have a bachelor’s Degree in food related field. (Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, etc.)
  • Must have 3+ years’ experience in a lead role or management position in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership in the development, training, execution, and verification/validation of all quality systems
  • Ensures compliance to all regulatory, customer, and corporate programs.
  • Leads and participates in regulatory, customer, and internal audits.
  • Provides leadership in the development, training and maintenance of the plant Food Safety and Quality programs
  • Act as the primary contact for internal and external customers and investigate consumer and customer complaints while providing written communication regarding the findings
  • Responsible for developing and monitoring plant sanitation and product safety programs to ensure a safe and wholesome product supply; lead teams through product recall management process
  • Provides leadership to help ensure a safe work environment throughout the plant. Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
  • Coordinate the activities of engineers and contractors in complying with GMP’s during construction activities
  • Work with vendors to correct noncompliance issues concerning ingredients and supplies
  • Responsible for supporting and maintaining Food Safety and Quality Programs, along with proactively identifying and executing all continuous improvement opportunities in the areas of safety, food safety, quality, productivity, and sanitation.
  • Participates and supports all Quality and Safety audits and annual certifications, including internal audits and paperwork compliance
  • Other duties, as assigned
