About The Position

This position is responsible for the daily operations of the quality assurance department, food safety practices, quality standards, and staff. Duties include but are not limited to: Must have the ability to perform all positions within the department. Develop, implement, and manage processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery. Identify and set appropriate quality standards and parameters for products. Communicate food safety practices, procedures, and specifications. Participate and coordinate product testing processes. Analyze issues with regards to specification deviations and other problems. Enforce proper FSQA standards across the facility. Recommend and facilitate solutions to departmental issues. Review client, customer, and user feedback. Ensure product meets required specifications for quality, function, and reliability. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, guidelines, and policies. Perform other duties as assigned. This role also includes supervisory responsibilities such as assisting in employee selection, overseeing training and performance monitoring, scheduling and managing daily workflow, handling discipline and termination, completing performance evaluations, monitoring expenditures, communicating with customers and vendors, ensuring timely and accurate completion of activities, and assisting in quality training and certification.

  • HACCP Certification required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Five years of experience in meat processing, food manufacturing, or related field
  • Three years of supervisory experience required
  • Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, animal science or related field preferred

  • Monitor expenditures: implement corrective actions if needed
  • Communicate with customers and vendors as needed
  • Ensure that all activities are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assist in the quality training and certification process
