Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of IATF 16949 experience in a manufacturing setting is required.
  • Ability to lead a diverse team of quality technicians and engineers while balancing the needs of production/process support.

Nice To Haves

  • Domain knowledge in analytical chemistry is desirable.
  • At least five years experience leading the QA/QC function in a laboratory environment is desired.
  • Expert skills in Minitab is desired.
  • BS in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a division-wide, IATF16949 and ISO9001 compliant business management system to ensure all manufactured products meet customer and company specifications and achieve superior quality and reliability levels.
  • Ensuring all Quality Assurance Systems are fully implemented and monitored, and that Quality Control Procedures and Practices are standardized and followed.
  • Conducting ongoing analytical assessments of all materials and certifying their performance to customers.
  • Managing the IATF program and related Quality Control program and staff.
  • Staffing and training personnel in QA/QC.
  • Ensuring product quality is maintained through the application of analytical test protocols on constituent materials.
  • Leading the process of inspection of products to proactively disposition product and ensure qualified materials are available to production.
  • Ensuring plans, programs, and analytical chemistry capabilities are linked with and support the overall objectives of the Quality organization.
  • Identifying and reporting quality problems or trends based on SPC data.
  • Recommending or implementing appropriate corrective action to quality problems, with the aid of Manufacturing, Engineering, Product Development, Purchasing, etc.
  • Applying problem-solving techniques (8D, 5-Why, FMEA, GR&R, etc.) and advanced statistical methods.
  • Supporting the ongoing implementation and continuous improvements to the ERP system.
  • Reviewing all documentation related to product quality, such as test procedures and operation sheets, and approving as appropriate to ensure product quality.
  • Generating or implementing defect-reduction activities.
  • Writing necessary quality plans, PPAPs, procedures, work instructions, and related quality system documentation.
  • Serving as the liaison with R&D for new product implementation, current modifications, and analytical procedure and equipment developments.
  • Providing detailed analytical analysis and requisite reports to customers and suppliers for special projects and/or failure analysis.
