About The Position

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining quality control procedures and programs to ensure that customer expectations are consistently met. This role reports directly to the Operations Manager and has a dotted line reporting relationship to the Corporate Director of Quality Management. This position will oversee all QA for a brand new highly automated facility currently being built in Columbus, Mississippi.

Requirements

  • Advanced skills in problem solving and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • 8-10 years of experience in a quality management role, preferably within the metal fabrication industry
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent, preferably with a technical or engineering focus
  • 8-10 years of experience in the metal fabrication industry
  • Experience in hiring, developing, and managing a team of quality professionals
  • Excellent ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Proficient in using measurement tools such as calipers, height gauges, protractors, etc
  • Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
  • Strong computer and technical skills
  • Familiarity with the ISO-9001 standard
  • Excellent analytical abilities for assessing and resolving quality issues
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail in all aspects of work
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated reliable work history
  • Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all inspection tasks

Responsibilities

  • Verify that inspection procedures used by all personnel are accurate and compliant with established quality control standards
  • Lead and manage a team of quality professionals to ensure that parts meet all customer specifications
  • Maintain and update quality control standards and procedures, ensuring that all relevant personnel are informed and compliant
  • Support the management team in maintaining ISO 9001 compliance and assist during ISO and customer audits
  • Oversee the inspection of incoming and outgoing materials to confirm that specifications are met
  • Evaluate rejected material (both internal and external) and manage the corrective action system to reduce nonconformances and waste
  • Manage Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions to customers and ensure all requirements are satisfied
  • Develop and implement programs to educate, train, and update all personnel on quality control procedures
  • Manage the gage calibration system, ensuring that all gages are properly calibrated and maintained
  • Integrate new inspection technologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency in the inspection process
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or Corporate Director of Quality Management
