Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or related field.
  • 5 plus years of experience in a food manufacturing QA role, including at least 2 years in a leadership position.
  • In-depth knowledge of FDA, USDA, SQF, HACCP, GMP, and other regulatory standards.
  • Experience managing audits and leading food safety programs.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and QA database systems; SAP experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the plant’s Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise QA staff, provide training, coaching, and performance development.
  • Maintain and enforce all HACCP, GMP, SQF, and regulatory programs.
  • Lead preparation for internal, third-party, and customer audits and ensure audit readiness at all times.
  • Review and approve product testing, verification, and validation protocols.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and sanitation teams to resolve quality concerns.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and ensure timely resolution.
  • Investigate consumer complaints and non-conformance issues, providing root cause analysis.
  • Monitor and report KPIs related to quality, food safety, and compliance.
  • Support SOX compliance and documentation requirements tied to traceability and QA protocols.
  • Maintain accurate QA records and ensure documentation meets company and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and drive quality-focused culture throughout the plant.
