The Quality Assurance Lead will coordinate and assign daily work to QA staff with minimal supervision, monitor and evaluate employee performance, and provide strong leadership to ensure effective utilization of personnel. This position requires accurate documentation of quality issues, solutions, and procedures, as well as maintaining laboratory equipment and chemical inventories. The Lead will support the QA Supervisor with system evaluations and personnel-related initiatives, inspect and test water treatment systems, and ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with GMP, HACCP, sanitation, and food safety standards. Effective communication with managers and supervisors across all plant areas is essential, and the Lead may be required to perform duties of technicians and blenders when needed.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, and troubleshoot complex product quality issues.
  • Coordinate and assign daily work to QA staff with minimal supervision, ensuring clarity on priorities and procedures.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and support employee performance; assist with training and development of Technical Services staff.
  • Provide strong leadership and ensure effective utilization of personnel across tasks including cleaning, rework, and facility improvement projects.
  • Document quality issues, solutions, and procedures accurately; complete all required reports and communicate critical information across shifts.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure chemical inventories are current; order supplies as needed.
  • Support the QA Supervisor with system evaluations, planning, and personnel-related initiatives, including recommending process improvements.
  • Inspect and test water treatment systems and monitor wastewater treatment processes.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with GMP, HACCP, sanitation, and food safety standards.
  • Report unsafe conditions, practices, or personnel issues promptly to leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with managers and supervisors across all plant areas.
  • Perform duties of technicians and blenders when needed.
