About The Position

Green Bay Dressed Beef Processing, LLC, an American Foods Group company has an opportunity for a QA Lead I at our East River plant in Green Bay, WI. As QA Lead I, you will monitor procedures, verify and complete daily HACCP and QA documentation, account for tools, utensils and other potentially dangerous equipment, monitor lines that transfer products, water, oil and other ingredients for integrity, encourage teamwork and learning amongst QA personnel, conduct active Food Security and Defense surveillance, enforce the wearing of proper PPE, assist USDA inspectors, monitor the cleanliness of the production area, communicate and work with customers and suppliers, conduct ground beef audits, work with IEH Laboratories, make product labels, and conduct worker locker inspections. This description is not intended to be all inclusive. An employee may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization; these duties are considered marginal.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures warm, hot, humid, cold, wet or with slippery surfaces at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Hours vary based on production needs and extended hours may be required.
  • Must be able to successfully complete training: Safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Food defense.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior quality assurance experience in a USDA inspected beef, pork, or poultry facility.
  • Prior production experience.
  • Work history in the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor procedures: Pre-operational sanitation, signing off COA’s and pre-shipment review, Tares and specifications of products, Foot sprayers and sanitizers, Shelf life studies as needed, Preparation of cooler for sample shipment.
  • Verify and complete daily HACCP and QA documentation.
  • Account for tools, utensils and other potentially dangerous equipment that are distributed on a daily basis.
  • Monitor lines that transfer products, water, oil and other ingredients for integrity.
  • Encourage teamwork and learning amongst QA personnel.
  • Active Food Security and Defense surveillance inside the facility and its operation.
  • Enforce the wearing of proper PPE specific to their job areas.
  • Assist USDA inspectors.
  • Monitor the cleanliness of the production area.
  • Communicate and work with customers and suppliers as needed.
  • Conduct ground beef audits.
  • Work with IEH Laboratories.
  • Make product labels.
  • Conduct worker locker inspections.
