About The Position

The Quality Assurance Inspector manages the inspection and release of incoming materials, including color, resin, and liners, and oversees the COA/COC process. This role involves maintaining detailed computer logs and paperwork, providing timely documentation to the Shipping department and customers, and reviewing supplier COAs to release or reject raw materials. The inspector is responsible for creating and supplying part certificates (COC, COA) to customers and communicating with vendors and customers to ensure data accuracy. A key aspect of the role is leading the HFI (Hold for Inspection, reselection, rework) process, which includes managing NCR (Non-Conformance Report) databases in InfinityQS, SAP, and Excel. The inspector continuously monitors non-conforming products, provides required reports, ensures the quality and timeliness of HFI inspection/reselection, and maintains all related records. This position also involves communicating and delegating activities to HFI employees, providing both informal and formal training and coaching. Furthermore, the Quality Assurance Inspector manages Production PR Packets, ensuring they are printed, completed, reviewed, closed, filed, and that all labels are correctly placed and inventoried. They are responsible for maintaining accurate SAP inventory for non-conforming products, including placing and releasing them on hold. The role supports product testing as a back-up, which includes reading and interpreting Part Specifications, Quality Plans, and Blue Prints, performing visual and functional inspections of Work-In-Process and Finished Goods, and properly using measuring equipment like Calipers, Micrometers, and Torque meters. Additional duties include collecting information for product traceability, gathering documents for package start-up, approving labels, supplying data for manufacturing troubleshooting, maintaining job execution records, and supporting Quality Training Events. The inspector is also expected to support and maintain all company policies, including ISO/BRC Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, and standard work procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience managing the inspection and release of incoming materials and COA/COC processes.

Responsibilities

  • Leads HFI (inspection, reselection, rework) process.

  • Continuously monitors non-conforming product (inventory, defect data, etc.) and provides reports as required.
  • Assures quality of HFI inspection/reselection and timely results.
  • Maintains HFI and NCR records and reporting as required.
  • Communicates and delegates planned and unplanned activities to HFI employees in conjunction with department goals.
  • Instructs HFI employees in informal and formal training and coaching sessions.
  • Manage Production PR Packets.
  • Assure production ren packets are printed and completed on time.
  • Assures all labels for each Pr packet are printed and placed with the appropriate packet.
  • Review, close and file all PR packets form productio.
  • Keep inventory of all the labels for production.
  • Maintains accurrate SAP Inventory from non conformance product.
  • Place & Release Non conformance product on hold in SAP.
  • Supports product testing as needed for back-up (visual, functional, dimensional).
