Requirements

  • High School with some technical experience
  • Forklift Certification - counterbalance and reach truck if required
  • Previous quality assurance / control experience an asset
  • Product Knowledge and mechanical aptitude
  • Intermediate spreadsheet and numerical analysis skills
  • Working knowledge of measurement instruments
  • Interpersonal Skills – Effectively communicating, building rapport and relating well to all kinds of people
  • Goal Orientation – Energetically focusing on efforts to meet a goal mission or objective
  • Flexibility – Agility in adapting to change
  • Problem Solving – Anticipating, analyzing, diagnosing and resolving problems
  • Planning/Organizing – Utilizing logical, systematic and orderly procedures to meet objectives.
  • Must have WHTI - compliant documentation to travel into Canada

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection of purchased components and or subassemblies according to Company work instructions using standard physical, mechanical and / or destructive test measurements.
  • Accurately document results of inspections and testing, and maintain all controlled document files and test records, in a timely and accurate manner using Microsoft D365
  • Perform physical quantity adjustments as required, including routine audits or to resolve a problem
  • Use a variety of material-handling equipment to retrieve and restock products returned for QA inspections
  • Re-work or reject finished products and / or components as required
  • Identify possible areas for continual improvement on any tests being performed and / or test methods being utilized, bringing any oversights and / or suggestions for improvement to the attention of the QA Manager
  • Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and calibration
  • Assist in the supervision of any additional in-house and or temporary staff being used to test or repair any products to ensure work is done safely and completed to the required expectations
  • Handle warranty returns documentation and preparation of warranty return data to identify problem areas
  • Work closely with the QA Manager and / or team members to establish and execute a corrective action plan for defective products
  • Assist in creating and maintaining work instructions for the QA Department, focusing on day-to-day efficiencies to promote continuous improvement
  • Participate in the construction and/or revision of work instructions for the inspection function
