The Quality Assurance Inspector (Weekend) position is located in Booneville, MS. This role is essential for ensuring daily departmental goals are met by inspecting all upholstered pieces/slip covers produced by the assigned upholstery line before they are sent for further processing, aligning with Sutter Street Manufacturing's objectives in safety, service, quality, and cost.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of inspection experience in quality operations in upholstered furniture.
  • Good math and reading skills.
  • Experience in reading and understanding production tickets.
  • Ability to interpret simple instructions commonly placed in a production manual.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements.
  • Good communication skills – oral and written.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to keep accurate records and follow documented procedures and standards.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as a team with other associates and managers.
  • Excellent time-management skills including ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Strong sense of urgency and time management to meet established deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Practice safe work practices and demonstrate safe work habits, adhering to Personal Protective Equipment standards.
  • Adhere to WSI policies with a positive attitude and a willingness to assist others.
  • Act with professional courtesy and the highest integrity.
  • Clean up covers behind upholsterers by cutting all strings and detailing pieces before the inspection process.
  • Perform daily tasks promptly and with high standards to achieve departmental and facility production goals using documented Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assure that all product has consistent ½ inch seams and meets or exceeds all stated quality requirements for the style as specified by Sutter Street Manufacturing.
  • Assure ticket, fabric, cushions, and pillows are correct with the PRD while performing departmental tasks safely, correctly, and quickly.
  • Demonstrate integrity and act in a responsible and accountable manner while promoting hard work ethics through teamwork and collaboration.
  • Inspect the overall appearance, including visually checking and completing a final review of seams, fabric, cushions, and pillows for defects.
  • Work with associates to maximize productivity while ensuring quality and adhering to all safety policies.
  • Assure all dec, labels are in the correct location.
  • Suggest improvements to current techniques and processes.
  • Ensure that overall cleanliness of the area is maintained throughout the shift.
  • Scan the ticket and load the inspected piece onto the conveyor belt if no repairs are needed.
