About The Position

This individual will play an important role in ensuring small precision-machined components meet established visual, dimensional, functional, and quality requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing environment, using precision measuring instruments, reading technical drawings and blueprints, and documenting inspection results. Requirements

  • Previous Quality Inspector, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or related manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience inspecting small or precision-machined components strongly preferred
  • Proficiency using various precision measuring and testing instruments
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints, including GD&T
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and inspection procedures
  • Ability to follow detailed test procedures and work instructions
  • Experience in creating and maintaining inspection reports and quality records
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to visually inspect small precision parts, with and without magnification
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when discussing technical matters
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to promote and support process improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Inspect manufactured precision parts to ensure they meet visual, dimensional, and functional requirements
  • Perform inspections using a variety of precision measuring and testing instruments
  • Verify machine setup and first-piece/sample parts prior to production
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T requirements
  • Document inspection results accurately on reports, records, and other quality documentation
  • Identify and communicate quality concerns, discrepancies, and technical issues to appropriate team members
  • Follow established inspection procedures, test procedures, work instructions, and quality standards
  • Inspect packaging, labeling, material handling, and storage practices to ensure requirements are met
  • Support continuous improvement and help identify opportunities to improve processes and quality
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to effective quality documentation
  • Work independently while also collaborating with production and other departments as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and detail-focused work approach
