About The Position

To provide our suppliers and customers (to include internal customers) with technical support on quality issues. Working with cross-functional teams, including production and support (Sales, Purchasing, Planning, Production Engineering, etc.), for resolution of problems in a timely manner is imperative. Support quality system(s) development, changes, and maintenance, be proactive, promoting and assuring a high quality product, service, or support with minimized or reduced cost; work for cost reductions and savings; investigate and document root cause and corrective measures for internal entities and suppliers (where required); and to promote the team environment for the overall good of the Company's vision, ideals and success.

Requirements

  • Experience with manufacturing processes and part conformance.
  • Experience with customer interactions to resolve customer problems.
  • Experience with: handling internal quality issues, process evaluation and their resolution and implementation.
  • Experience with root cause failure analysis and investigation.
  • Experience with collecting, processing, analysis, compiling data in a report format.
  • Background in and use of ISO standards and their compliance.
  • Ability to read print drawings and read and apply GD&T tolerances.
  • Ability to work with and lead individuals and teams.
  • Good writing and communication skills.
  • Computer skills and ability to use Microsoft office and other programs as needed.
  • Ability to use standard measuring tools and devices.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision and meet deadlines and timing.

Nice To Haves

  • Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) Level II Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a contact on manufacturing process quality issues for any outside customer requiring assistance.
  • Assures defect data entry is in place for those manufacturing operations required to collect quality data.
  • Review/monitor trends of non-conforming material (NCM) to assist with the minimization/elimination of such causes leading to said NCM.
  • Occasionally review manufacturing documentation (Work Orders, Purchase Orders) to ensure correctness and that it contains the necessary criteria and provisions for effective inspection of products.
  • When required, compiles and reports quality data to assigned customers using defined reporting agreements.
  • Initiates and tracks internal/external product deficiencies and works with engineering for a timely disposition of such product.
  • Participate in communication with customers to discuss quality issues, particularly those issues found by the customer or in the field, as needed.
  • Reviews and processes customer returns (Return Material Authorization, or RMA), including, but not limited to, inspection and disposition.
  • Serve as point of contact with suppliers to communicate nonconformance's and returns of production items, to include initiating the return to supplier process.
  • Performs additional duties as required by management.
