About The Position

Global- a 1st Flagship Company, a woman-owned small business and a leader in Marine Support Services and Emergency Management, is seeking a Quality Assurance / Inspections Manager. As a trusted Prime Contractor for the Department of Navy since 1964, the company manages, operates, and maintains the U.S. Navy Inactive Ship fleet. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in a dynamic and innovative work environment, working on various Navy vessels.

Requirements

  • A four-year college degree with at least three (3) years of managerial experience in quality inspection of ship maintenance-related experience, OR 10 years of quality ship maintenance-related experience with at least five (5) years of which involved managerial responsibilities.
  • Ability to obtain an Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Reports directly to the Project Manager and is responsible for the administration of the Quality Control (QC) program.
  • Supervises personnel performing QC inspections and monitors inspection progress.
  • Correlates required inspection reports and informs the Project Manager of problem areas.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the Technical Library.
  • Develops, implements, monitors, and modifies quality/inspections management processes and procedures.
  • Establishes QA policies and procedures to assess overall work quality.
  • Develops and maintains the Quality Assurance / Quality Control Manual.
  • Reviews Ship Inactivation Plans and provides feedback to the Project Manager and Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
  • Prepares and delivers Ship Inactivation Briefs, and trains Ships Force on the Inactivation process.
  • Executes cost control procedures for estimating, executing, and accounting for tasks.
  • Submits required budget and financial reports to the Project Manager.
  • Communicates and coordinates with individuals and organizations for scheduling and completing inspections.
  • Maintains the Remote Monitoring Station (RMS) and INACTIVESHIPS Events System (ISES) alarm systems, ensuring operational status.
  • Maintains the highest achievable physical security of assigned facilities and vessels.
  • Enforces control, management, and administration of classified material.
  • Provides leadership and management for inspections/quality assurance and management.
  • Provides timely, accurate, and complete correspondence, reports, and documentation.
  • Briefs the Project Manager weekly on project status.
  • Debriefs completed projects and develops improvement plans from lessons learned.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with the COR.
  • Engages all levels of the organization in identifying, implementing, and enforcing improvements.
  • Asks questions and listens to ensure understanding of employee ideas and concerns.
  • Accepts, considers, and acts on constructive criticism.
  • Professionally represents the company in dealings with customers, suppliers, sub-contractors, and government agencies.
  • Provides clear, firm, and consistent leadership while fostering a team culture.
