About The Position

Globotech is currently seeking a Quality Inspection Test Plan Writer (Civil) to support ongoing projects at the Tiverton, Ontario location. An ideal candidate must be local or willing to relocate to the area. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge normally acquired either through the completion of Grade XII in a Secondary, Commercial or Technical School plus a two-year course of concentrated study in appropriate subjects obtained in an accredited College of Applied Arts and Technology, Polytechnic Institute or Community College for Civil Engineering Technician.
  • Three (3) years of Manufacturing or Engineering experience
  • Requires knowledge of technical writing skills to prepare clear, concise reports and knowledge of the English language to communicate effectively at all levels with personnel.
  • Requires familiarity with large-scale nuclear generating station layouts, station systems and equipment, and plant operating processes.
  • Requires familiarity with the ASME codes and CSA standards pertaining to the fabrication and repair of pressure boundary components.
  • Requires knowledge of the relationships and interactions of the various Departments and Sections involved in the Fabrication, modification, maintenance and repair of pressure boundary components.
  • Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Requires excellent level of written and verbal communication skill.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years in Nuclear is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Perform work activities under the Bruce Power Management System documents.
  • Review Engineering Change (EC) package and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs). Provide feedback to Engineering, Project Teams and PB Specialist as required.
  • Develop the Inspection and Test plan (ITP) as directed by Line Management, Engineering and/or Project Team.
  • Participate in training programs as required to achieve full capability within the various corporate safety and business processes necessary to function in the workgroup and its working environment.
  • Coordinate work activities with other groups.
  • Task and Work Order Assessing within the discipline of the job document.
  • Review the project schedule to ensure that activities are scheduled properly.
  • Anticipate and identify problem areas, informing Supervisor as appropriate.
  • Review or assemble TWP documents and coordinate input per Line management project team.
  • Provide regular status updates or escalate issues back to FLM, Engineering, Work Management and the project team.
  • Submit Condition Records to document all issues during the preparation, installation or commissioning phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Individuals may work as an individual or as a member of a project or a functional team.
  • Review and participate in walk-downs of area affected by Engineering Change (EC) for standard industry practices and installation.
  • Participate in project team meetings during all phases of the project lifecycle with emphasis on the planning function.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Obtain & maintain core qualifications in Bruce Power Pressure Boundary Inspection Program.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of station systems, work practices, procedures, applicable codes, and regulations, and be aware of developments in the field of Pressure Boundary and inspection through attendance at appropriate courses and lectures or through technical literature.
