Quality Assurance Group Leader
About The Position
This role oversees the activities of all team employees, ensuring their safety by checking work areas for hazards and addressing issues immediately. The Quality Assurance Group Leader acts as a role model for safety, assists in preliminary investigations of safety incidents, and conducts training on selected safety topics. This position supports team goals, disseminates information to employees, and leads employee-driven teams to address operational issues. The role also involves providing input for performance appraisals, resolving problems, recommending training, and maintaining open communication with team employees. Additionally, the Quality Assurance Group Leader attends meetings, provides information to the supervisor in their absence, and conducts meetings with employees on production, quality, safety, and policy matters.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous leadership experience in manufacturing setting
- Previous QA experience in manufacturing setting
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the supervisor, oversees the activities of all team employees
- Ensures the safety of all team employees by checking their work areas for safety/housekeeping hazards and addressing issues immediately.
- Reports any infractions to their supervisor
- Performs duties in a safe manner; acts as a role model for safety
- Assists supervisor in conducting preliminary investigations on safety incidents
- Reviews and documents daily safety topic discussion for meetings
- Conducts required training on selected safety topics as identified and assigned by the safety manager or immediate supervisor
- Supports team goals and objectives. Assists supervisor with dissemination information and updates to employees
- Organizes and leads employee driven teams to address safety, quality, or other operational issues as assigned by the supervisor
- Provides input for performance appraisals; addresses complaints and helps to resolve problems. Assists with the retention of appropriate documentation.
- Provides input on employee readiness for promotion, participates in interviews and recommends training as needed.
- Maintains open communication with all team employees. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed
- Attends meetings and provides information to Supervisor in his/her absence
- Conducts meetings with employees to provide information on production, quality, safety, and policy issues
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
