About The Position

The Quality Assurance Engineer is a generalist responsible for supporting quality across the platform. The role validates new features, runs regression cycles, tests APIs and backend behavior, and helps determine when releases are ready to ship. The engineer provides coverage where needed across web, mobile, and API testing, and works on both feature testing and release cycles. The position reports to the QA Lead and partners closely with the mobile QA and automation engineers and with product. Candidates based in the Eastern or Central time zones are preferred to provide overlap with the engineering team.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on QA experience on web and/or mobile software products.
  • Strong manual testing skills, including writing clear test cases and test plans, running regression suites, and exploratory testing.
  • Experience testing APIs with Postman or similar tools, and working knowledge of SQL for validating data.
  • Experience with Jira and a test management tool such as TestRail.
  • Experience testing financial, payments, or wallet flows, or other products where errors have real monetary impact.
  • Clear written communication and the ability to prioritize when several teams need testing at once.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving Agile environment with regular releases and remotely with a day that overlaps Eastern or Central time business hours.
  • Comfort using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, or Claude to speed up test design and bug triage.

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in betting and prediction markets, including markets, odds, events, and settlements.

Responsibilities

  • Test new features across web, mobile, and API layers in collaboration with product and engineering during active development.
  • Write, maintain, and execute test cases and test plans for new and existing features.
  • Run regression testing cycles ahead of releases and confirm each build meets quality standards before it ships.
  • Perform exploratory testing to find issues that scripted test cases miss.
  • Test backend and API behavior, including request/response validation, error handling, and data integrity.
  • Validate wallet, balance, and financial transaction flows with care appropriate to real-money products.
  • Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, evidence, and severity assessments, and verify fixes.
  • Work with the mobile QA engineer and automation engineer to identify regression cases worth automating, and contribute to automated test coverage as time allows.
  • Flag quality risks, gaps in coverage, and process improvements to the QA Lead.
