About The Position

The Quality Assurance Engineer is a generalist responsible for supporting quality across the platform. The role validates new features, runs regression cycles, tests APIs and backend behavior, and helps determine when releases are ready to ship. The engineer works with the teams that need testing coverage most, moving between web, mobile, and API testing and between feature work and release periods. The role reports to the QA Lead and partners closely with the mobile QA and automation engineers and product. Candidates in Eastern or Central time zones are preferred so their working day overlaps with the engineering team. The engineer tests features throughout active development, maintains and executes test cases and plans, conducts exploratory testing, validates backend and API behavior, and verifies financial transaction flows. They document and track defects, verify fixes, contribute to automation where time allows, and flag quality risks and process improvements. This is a fully remote role within the U.S. at a growing betting exchange startup.

  • Working knowledge of SQL for validating data.
  • Experience with Jira and a test management tool such as TestRail.
  • Experience testing financial, payments, or wallet flows, or other products where errors have real monetary impact.
  • Comfort using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, or Claude to speed up test design and bug triage.
  • Clear written communication and ability to prioritize when several teams need testing at once.
