Reporting to the Director, Quality Assurance, the successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring our manufacturing processes and outputs align with the organization’s QA goal to implement robust solutions to minimize the risk of nonconformities both during production and in the final product at the customer and at the end user. As this role directly supports our manufacturing operations, it is a 100% onsite role at our Raven’s Landing facility in Saanichton, BC.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years’ manufacturing experience with at least 5 years in a QA Engineering role.
  • ISO 9001, ISO 13485 or equivalent QMS experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading QA engineering activities in a technical, cross-functional manufacturing environment.
  • A strong working knowledge of problem-solving tools and techniques.
  • Strong working skills and experience with statistical software (such as JMP or Minitab)
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and to be able to work in a team environment
  • Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a methodical approach.
  • Demonstrate positive attitude and self-motivation.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean/Six Sigma certification, an advantage.
  • Internal Auditor certification.

Responsibilities

  • Management of Process FMEAs & Control Plans. Creation, release and periodic review.
  • Implement and monitor the effectiveness of preventive actions.
  • Development and administration of the Process Audit Program. Define and follow annual audit schedule. Follow standardized Process Audit Checklist.
  • As a result of Manufacturing Group’s defect failure analysis: Lead root cause investigation. Identify and implement containment and/or mitigating actions. Feedback supplier failures to Supplier QA Engineer. Implement corrective actions. Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Support the introduction and verification of new or revised manufacturing processes in collaboration with the Manufacturing and Operational Ramp Execution Groups.
  • Administer the Change Control Process (CARP). Review and approve changes under the Process Development Framework Program.
  • Verify compliance to Environmental Regulations i.e. RoHS, REACH, etc. and other company environmental requirements.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) with review and approval of Gate Reviews and SOPs.
  • Support Customer QA Engineer on quality issues, complaints and audits, as required.
  • Review and approve process deviations (Change Notice), as required.
  • Support GR&R/MSA studies in collaboration with Manufacturing Group, as required
  • Support Manufacturing Group’s continuous improvement initiatives through Lean methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain Visual Inspection Standards and provide training for QA Technicians and Manufacturing Technicians.
  • Develop and administer a Root Cause Analysis training program for the Operations Group.
  • Track, prepare and present process performance using quality data
  • Other duties as may be required from time to time.
