About The Position

We're looking for a senior-level quality engineering expert to own test strategy and automation architecture across our organization. The Quality Assurance Engineer IV shapes how quality is built into every stage of the product lifecycle — from early design reviews through production monitoring — and serves as the definitive technical authority on QA practices at AbsenceSoft. If you're a seasoned QA leader who combines deep technical expertise with strong cross-functional influence and a continuous improvement mindset, we'd love to meet you.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional QA or software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a technical lead or principal-level capacity.
  • Expert-level proficiency in test automation frameworks and languages (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Java, Python).
  • Proven track record designing and implementing automation frameworks used across multiple teams or product areas.
  • Deep expertise in SDLC, agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps quality practices.
  • Experience with performance, load, and security testing tools and methodologies at scale.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to define and interpret quality metrics and drive data-informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence engineering practices and quality culture across cross-functional teams.
  • You're a technical leader with a mentoring mindset — proactive in identifying risks and driving solutions, and a strong communicator who can influence across teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience in SaaS, enterprise HR technology, or compliance-driven software environments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with leave management, accommodations, or HR technology domains is a plus.
  • Experience contributing to engineering hiring, team building, or QA community of practice programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the organization-wide QA strategy, test architecture, and quality standards across all product lines.
  • Architect, build, and continuously evolve scalable test automation frameworks that serve multiple teams and release cadences.
  • Partner with engineering and product leadership to embed quality practices into system design, sprint planning, and release readiness.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional quality initiatives from inception through delivery, ensuring alignment across engineering, product, and operations.
  • Establish and track quality metrics and KPIs; use data to identify trends, drive improvements, and communicate quality posture to stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary technical authority on QA tooling decisions, framework selection, and engineering standards.
  • Design and execute performance, load, and security testing strategies for enterprise-scale SaaS systems.
  • Mentor and develop QA engineers at all levels, elevating the team's overall technical capabilities and professional growth.
  • Champion a shift-left quality culture by driving early testing integration and proactive risk identification across the SDLC.
  • Evaluate and introduce emerging testing tools, technologies, and methodologies to keep AbsenceSoft's QA practice at the leading edge.
