About The Position

This Summer 2027 Internship for a Quality Assurance Engineer at Stryker offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, gain exposure to leaders, and experience a culture of innovation and teamwork. Interns will apply classroom knowledge in a fast-paced industry, implement new ideas, develop skills, network with stakeholders, and experience documenting complex processes. The internship focuses on making healthcare better by ensuring the quality, safety, durability, and reliability of Stryker's products.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field; must remain enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the internship.
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above (verified at time of hire)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate and build relationships
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and eagerness to learn in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work on engineering projects related to development of new products (Advanced Quality)
  • Focus on human factors engineering, risk management, application of statistics, reliability engineering, design verification, and design validation including customer interaction (Advanced Quality)
  • Ensure that the products developed will work consistently for our customers to meet or exceed their expectations (Advanced Quality)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product sustainment (Process Quality)
  • Perform robust root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions when non-conforming issues arise in production (Process Quality)
  • Focus on quality, compliance and continuous improvement (Process Quality)
  • Work with a variety of tools including CAD for fixture design, root cause analysis methods, LabView, and validation activities to optimize production, inspection, and quality system processes (Process Quality)
  • Be responsible for all supplier-related activities (Supplier Quality)
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure components and their manufacturing processes meet required standards (Supplier Quality)
  • Work closely with internal customers from multiple functions, meeting with suppliers frequently, and using both technical and business skills (Supplier Quality)
  • Work with internal cross-functional teams and external sales team and customers to ensure development and sustainment of products with the highest quality (Quality)
  • Ensure the right products are developed up front – evaluate risk, ensure customer user needs are met, and help drive craftsmanship, safety, durability and reliability into the product (Quality)
  • Handle complaints and implement design changes, as needed, to address quality issues on the post-market side (Quality)
  • Utilize great communication, problem-solving, and technical skills (Quality)
