About The Position

This role is for a Quality Assurance Engineer II within Prime Tech. The QAE will innovate test strategies across multiple dependencies, locales, and device types, implementing scalable automation for UI and back-end testing. The role involves understanding software internals, debugging complex problems, writing automated tests, and collaborating with Software Development Engineers, Business Owners, Product Management, User Interaction, and Customer Support to develop comprehensive test plans that mimic real-world environments. The QAE is responsible for diagnosing and resolving release problems, driving quality-centric methodologies, and reporting on test progress and metrics. A day in the life includes building test strategy documents, creating test plans, driving test execution, writing automation, debugging, and reporting. The QAE II is also expected to participate in hiring and mentorship.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
  • Experience in manual testing
  • Experience in automation testing
  • Experience as QA lead on medium to large sized projects

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with at least one automated test framework like Selenium or Appium
  • Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality

Responsibilities

  • Test code at both the service and user level, using a variety of black box, gray box, and white box testing techniques.
  • Innovate test strategy across multiple dependencies, locales and device types.
  • Implement highly scalable automation to enable both UI (web and device level) and back end testing.
  • Understand software internals, debug complex problems including performance bottlenecks, and write automated tests.
  • Work with Software Development Engineers and Business Owners to understand business drivers and technical implementation of features.
  • Work with groups such as Product Management, User Interaction, and Customer Support to understand customer usage models and develop test plans and suites that approximate real-world environments and regression tests.
  • Diagnose project release problems and take corrective action, such as escalating as needed, to resolve and achieve results.
  • Drive software development process toward quality-centric methodologies.
  • Report on test progress, metrics, and issues.
  • Build and write test strategy documents.
  • Create test plans.
  • Drive test execution along with peers and stakeholders.
  • Write test automation using inbuilt testing frameworks.
  • Debug and report.
  • Participate in hiring and mentorship of peers and junior employees.
