About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Coordinator for a Sterile Processing department. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring workflow, ensuring quality standards, and enhancing operational efficiency in sterile processing operations.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician.
Successful completion of at least one travel contract in sterile processing.
At least 2 years of experience in quality assurance, staff education, or supervisory roles.
Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or CBSPD).
Expertise in sterile processing, AAMI guidelines, Joint Commission standards, and infection prevention.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Epic is preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor sterile processing workflow, quality, and daily operations.
Conduct daily process and quality tray audits, documenting results in the tracking system.
Evaluate staff competencies, providing training, coaching, and re-education as required.
Train new hires and assist with annual competency assessments.
Maintain accurate quality and event reporting, including internal and external quality events.
Demonstrate proficiency with the instrument tracking system and ensure proper documentation for traceability.
Oversee routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
Adhere to all sterile processing policies, guidelines, manufacturer instructions for use (IFUs), and load-failure procedures.
Ensure compliance with industry standards including AAMI and Joint Commission.
Support the implementation of process improvements to enhance patient safety and operational efficiency.
Communicate effectively with management, supervisors, and quality/education leadership.
Submit detailed daily reports and respond promptly to all communications.
Participate in meetings and support ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
