About The Position

EwingCole is a nationally recognized architecture, engineering, interior design and planning firm with offices across the country. Our multi-disciplinary practice is built on the core values of professional excellence, design quality and collaboration. We are seeking a Quality Assurance Architect (QAA) to join our Philadelphia office. The QAA assists the QA Department in overall Quality Assurance/Quality Control at EwingCole. The QAA supports the Firm’s efforts for project specific solutions, working with teams of architects, engineers, consultants, and other team members and plays a critical role in achieving the firm's goals of quality design and exemplary service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Architecture or Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree
  • 15+ years of experience
  • Experience in the preparation of construction documents on large, technically sophisticated projects
  • Extensive field experience on construction sites, including construction contract administration
  • Well versed in building codes, life-safety, envelope design and constructability
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite, Newforma, Procore and Bluebeam
  • Fluent in Autodesk Revit and the integration of drawings and specifications in BIM

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Architect or PE in at least one state preferred

Responsibilities

  • Member of the QA Department, a group of dedicated, technically focused professionals.
  • Quality review production drawings and specifications for a variety of projects and project-related data to verify design compliance with project, client, and industry standards, including constructability and cross-discipline coordination.
  • Monitor progress of current projects and support design teams to accomplish project goals.
  • Support design teams in the review of submittals, RFI’s and substitution requests.
  • Perform product research and analysis of field issues.
  • Support the EwingCole Continuing Education Program.
  • Participate in Quality Audits on select projects following Design Development phase.
  • Assist in updating the firm’s standard detail library and support master specifications updates.
  • Interface regularly with discipline directors and design teams to ensure delivery of consistent deliverables.
  • Mentor interns and design staff.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
