About The Position

The College is seeking an individual with strong experience in quality assurance, performance measurement, and regulatory compliance, along with the ability to develop quality frameworks, lead audit processes, and translate data into actionable insights to take on the role of Quality Assurance and Standards Lead. The Quality Assurance & Standards Lead is responsible for developing and advancing a comprehensive quality and performance framework that supports the organization’s mandate to protect the public through effective implementation and monitoring of Performance Standards, outcomes, and related indicators. This role leads the development and implementation of tools, processes, and measures to evaluate compliance with standards, legislation, and regulatory requirements. The Quality Assurance & Standards Lead designs and supports audit and quality assurance activities, develops and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs), and provides data-driven insights to inform continuous improvement, operational effectiveness, and accountability. This position plays a critical role in fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the organization and the broader regulatory system. It is essential for all College staff to contribute to a public protection mandate, delivering efficient and responsive services that align with the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA) and broader commitments to reconciliation, while supporting the College in meeting its regulatory, strategic, and operational goals.

Requirements

  • A health care professional with 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in Quality Improvement, working in a complex health care organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as health care professional, health administration, public health, or policy.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating programs or processes against standards, conducting audits or reviews, and making recommendations for corrective actions to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Experience leading and supporting audits and regulatory reviews, with demonstrated ability to translate standards into practice.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement quality frameworks, tools, or evaluation systems.
  • Experience developing and monitoring KPIs and performance metrics to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Awareness of the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA) and Action Plan and their application to the work at CCHPBC.
  • Knowledge of the social, economic, political, and historical impacts of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples, along with familiarity with Indigenous-specific anti-racism, cultural safety, and relevant foundational documents and legislative commitments and how they intersect across the health care system.
  • Working knowledge of the Health Professions Act and the Health Professions and Occupations Act including their application to the work at CCHPBC.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and accurate reports, policies, and documentation.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders, government partners, and other invested parties.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to assess processes, identify gaps, and recommend practical, evidence-based improvements.
  • An individual who meets either the established formal qualification or the accepted equivalency can be considered equally for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously enhance frameworks, tools, and methodologies to measure compliance with Performance Standards, bylaws, and other regulatory indictors determined by the organization.
  • Implement, and maintain a comprehensive CCHPBC audit program. Ensure audit programs align with operational and strategic priorities, and risk management frameworks.
  • Develop, implement and monitor key performance indicators and other performance metrics. Translate data into actionable insights and recommendations to teams and leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen operational processes, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with governance, audit, and operational and strategic requirements.
  • Function as a government liaison and other external partners.
  • Work collaboratively across departments and teams to advance quality initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational and strategic priorities.
  • Support and advance initiatives that promote public protection, transparency, and accountability.
  • Demonstrate principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism, and anti-discrimination.
  • Contribute to and support consultation processes with the public and partners, ensuring diverse perspectives inform standards, policies, and program development.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Strategy, Quality Improvement and Performance.
