Requirements

High school diploma or GED
three (3) years’ experience in an adult correctional/detention environment or related field
knowledge of program objectives, policies, procedures, and requirements for managing a secure detention/correctional facility
excellent verbal and written communication skills required
US Citizenship or Lawful US Permanent Resident required.
Must successfully complete required preservice training.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Nice To Haves

Experience in accreditation preparation is highly desired.

Responsibilities

Establish periodic and annual reviews of each department, ensuring compliance with MTC and customer directives.
Implement the policy and procedure for the facility compliance.
Provide training to comply with the American Correctional Association (ACA) accreditation requirements.
Conduct regular reviews and inspections to ensure facility operations and programs meet compliance with all applicable laws and agency policy.
Ensure that quarterly reports on the facility’s activities are provided to the appropriate individual or agency.
Monitor and control expenditures.
Review budget authorizations.
Ensure that the facility has the staff needed to provide full coverage of designated security posts, full surveillance of detainees, and to perform all auxiliary functions.
