About The Position

The Quality Auditor is responsible for ensuring that automotive components and finished vehicles meet company, customer, and regulatory quality standards. This role involves inspecting products, auditing production processes, identifying defects, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment. The Quality Auditor plays a critical role in maintaining product integrity, reducing defects, and promoting a culture of quality, safety, and accountability on the production floor. Support (ATA) efforts to promote Corporate Social Responsibility, (CSR) and ensure activities are carried out in cooperation with G-TEKT CSR, and Corporate Governance initiatives and activities to ensure compliance in functional areas of responsibility. Support the Corporate Governance Policy of Austin Tri-Hawk Automotive and the Objectives of: Meeting challenges of changed legal and business environment. Enhancing the trust of ATA among customers, associates, and society. Implementing activities to improve ATA business operations using a strategy of Steady Compliance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred
  • 2–5 years of experience in quality inspection or auditing in an automotive or manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of automotive quality systems (ISO 9001)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications
  • Experience with measurement tools and inspection equipment (Taper Scales, Calipers, Micrometers)
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and basic quality tools (5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, Pareto analysis)
  • Proficiency with quality reporting systems and basic computer applications
  • Ability to influence and guide production teams toward compliance without direct authority
  • Demonstrates integrity and consistency in decision-making
  • Strong commitment to delivering quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with production teams and management
  • Responsive to internal customers (production, engineering, and logistics teams)

  • Assist in meeting ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 requirements
  • Knowledge of automotive mfg workflows, including stamping, welding and final inspection
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 quality systems
  • Skilled in defect identification and classification
  • Use of measurement and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges etc
  • Nonconformance identification and containment
  • Cross-functional team coordination
  • Know and comprehend critical/safety characteristics of each part
  • Stand for long periods (8–12 hours)
  • Ability to lift, carry, and stack parts (weight varies by product, often 10-40lbs)
  • Lift up to 25–50 lbs. regularly
  • Perform repetitive movements (bending, reaching, lifting)

  • Supporting training and mentoring of new inspectors or operators on quality standards.
  • Taking initiative in identifying improvement opportunities and driving corrective actions.
  • Observing, evaluating, and verifying production processes operate within defined quality standards.
  • Ensuring adherence to work instructions, standard processes, and customer specific requirements.
  • Performing in-process and final product auditing to ensure early detection of quality issues.
  • Managing material and product traceability.
  • Identifying and containing nonconformances.
  • Supporting Lean manufacturing and 5S.
  • Maintaining accurate data recording and reporting.
  • Coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Maintaining documentation on quality checks & issues.
  • Following “Stop Call Wait” instruction when parts are found to be defective.
  • Placing nonconforming parts on hold and determining exposure in house and shipped.
  • Issuing, tracking, and closing Trouble Reports.
  • Ensuring Hold product is accurately designated in “hold” status on Plex, and in the notes to add TR related to hold reason.
  • Completing all required inspections on the production floor.
  • Ensuring rework instructions are present for any suspect parts.
  • Managing sort activities regarding hold parts.
  • Placing questionable product on MRT (management review table).
  • Keeping correct records of scrap and hold information in Plex notes per container.
  • Issuing trouble reports in PLEX.
  • Communicating with all associates on product quality, procedures and processes.
  • Assisting with sorting tasks to verify quantities shipped to customers.
  • Sorting trucks if possibility of a miss shipment.
  • Utilizing fixtures and basic measuring devices.
  • Assisting Assembly Coordinator with educating and training of associates on proper Fixture usage.
