The company is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Quality Assistant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food safety and quality, a strong work ethic, and excellent time management skills. This position is for the weekend shift, Friday to Sunday, from 5 am to 6 pm.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to communicate orally and in writing using English.
  • Attention to detail and strong understanding of quality control procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic math and computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • Cross-cultural competence; effective and respectful interactions with people from any culture or place of origin.
  • Ability to operate an iPad.
  • Ability to stand and move around in a cold environment for 95% of shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college coursework in food science or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine quality checks on raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials according to company and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in preparing the production line for shift start-up, including bringing scales, O2/CO2 analyzer, trays, and utensils.
  • Follow all GMPs and monitor GMP practices in the production rooms.
  • Monitor line and equipment cleanliness prior to the start of day and after each break, notifying the Line Controller or Production Lead of any issues.
  • Conduct portion control weights including machine adjustments, net weights, MAP checks, scale accuracy, label checks, and quality checks at the line according to standard work.
  • Cooperate with all aspects of the safety program at E. A. Sween Company.
  • Complete all personal safety and food safety/GMP related training.
  • Report near miss & hazardous conditions to supervisor or the safety team.

Benefits

  • Hourly pay of $22
  • Weekend shift differential of $1.75 per hour
