The company is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Quality Assistant, with a passion for food safety and quality, a strong work ethic, and excellent time management skills. This position is for the weekend shift, Friday to Sunday, from 5 am to 6 pm.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to communicate orally and in writing using English
Attention to detail and strong understanding of quality control procedures
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Basic math and computer skills (Microsoft work and excel)
Cross-cultural competence; effective and respectful interactions with people from any culture or place of origin
Ability to operate an iPad
Ability to stand and move around in cold environment for 95% of shift

Nice To Haves

Some college coursework in food science or related field is preferred

Responsibilities

Perform routine quality checks on raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials according to company and regulatory standards.
Assist in preparing the production line for shift start-up, including bringing scales, O2/CO2 analyzer, trays, and utensils.
Follow all GMPs and monitor GMP practices in the production rooms.
Monitor line and equipment cleanliness prior to the start of day and after each break, notifying the Line Controller or Production Lead of any issues.
Conduct portion control weights including machine adjustments, net weights, MAP checks, scale accuracy, label checks and quality checks at the line according to standard work.
Cooperate with all aspects of the safety program at E. A. Sween Company.
Complete all personal safety and food safety/GMP related training.
Report near miss & hazardous conditions to supervisor or the safety team.
