About The Position

The Compliance Manager reports to the FSQ Director and is responsible for the company’s labeling systems, electronic data system for quality checks, and other duties as assigned. Must bring experience with labeling systems, regulation and customer requirements. Maintains a work station and also functions throughout the company’s several operating plants.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees compliance for labels. Ensures all rules, regulations, and expectations for labels are understood and followed.
  • Manages label approval process, including generic approvals, temporary approvals, USDA submissions.
  • Tracks label approval process in a spreadsheet or other approved documentation system.
  • Completes technical review, including formatting issues, customer requirements, and new label creation.
  • Creates new labels in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Addresses FSMA tasks for distribution plant.
  • Collaborates with IT for test and maintenance of hardware and software (ie, printers, Bartender, Aptean).
  • Reduces non-compliance reports for labeling issues. Leads corrective action processes related to labels.
  • Reduces customer complaints for labeling issues. Emphasis on exported items.
  • Ensures requirements from US Foods, Sysco, and others for FSMA compliance are met.
  • Establishes a documented system for verifying label compliance in each plant each day. Reports findings daily.
  • Leads electronic data system.
  • Meets regularly with FSQ Director to review activities and results.
  • Conducts ongoing training with employees.
  • Responds to requests from plants and FSQ in a timely and quality manner.
  • Cultivates positive relationships with the production workers, plant leaders, and outside partners.
  • Takes an active approach to work safe and meet safety goals established by the company.
