About The Position

The Quality and Reliability Engineer supports the Romulus Propulsion transmission line by leading rapid problem solving, warranty and customer issue investigations, returned-part analysis, and data-driven quality improvements. The role works with the Resident Product Engineer, Red X team, production, and other groups to conduct technical analysis of transmission failures and related components and drive corrective action on the plant floor. The engineer develops and administers reliability, warranty, and corrective-action plans; communicates findings and recommendations to plant leadership, engineering, manufacturing, service, and other stakeholders; and helps reduce customer impact and warranty costs while improving transmission quality and reliability. The role also supports effective countermeasures and plant compliance with BIQ IV standards, GQRs, and applicable quality-system requirements. The position is categorized as onsite, with the selected candidate expected to report to a specific location full time. Some travel may be required for vehicle assembly plant investigations and other business needs. Relocation benefits are available to candidates who qualify under company policy. GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
