About The Position

This role, under the supervision of the SHEQ Manager, is crucial for ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards (ISO, RD, TDG, GMP, WHIMIS / EC GHS) and ISO procedures. The position acts as a liaison between the department, customers, and suppliers to meet specific needs, ensuring the quality system functions properly to maintain Azelis’s certifications and that all internal units are aware of and apply current SHEQ rules.

Requirements

  • DEC or AEC in an appropriate discipline: quality management, regulatory affairs, chemistry, environmental science, or engineering.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a chemical products company (nutri, pharma, etc.) in the quality sector or in a laboratory.
  • Previous experience performing internal and external audits.
  • Excellent time management skills and priority setting skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability in solving various issues.
  • Excellent ability to work in teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong ability to adapt and evolve in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment.
  • Negotiation skills and political savvy to interact with various authorities as well as employees.
  • Proficiency in French and English.
  • Computer Skills: Word; Excel; PowerPoint; Outlook; ERP; SharePoint; Quality Software.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with standards and the quality of the overall system to maintain certifications and offer services that meet Azelis's quality standards and customer/supplier needs.
  • Perform internal audits in accordance with established procedures and deadlines.
  • Perform external audits for service providers according to established procedures and deadlines.
  • Address demands of non-compliance and customer/supplier complaints, and follow up until files are closed.
  • Establish or propose corrective and/or preventive actions based on audit findings, non-compliance requests, or complaints.
  • Ensure and monitor the efficiency of the implementation of chosen corrective and/or preventive actions.
  • Prepare updates to internal and external procedures that support the standards.
  • Ensure internal and external communications and the implementation of changes to procedures.
  • Validate Certificates of Analysis (CofA) against specifications for all products and processes, addressing problems when required.
  • Identify how to dispose of quarantined products.
  • Establish import limits for products.
  • Request permits required by various regulations and follow up on any changes in permits and imports.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the ERAP plan (emergency response assistance plan).
  • Contribute to the development of the emergency plan regarding building, transport, and hazardous goods, and apply it when necessary.
  • Proceed with nominations and notifications of products.
  • Identify the impact of changes or added regulations on Azelis operations.
  • Understand and resolve common situations by interacting with customers, suppliers, and different departments, bringing all at-risk situations to the attention of the superior to ensure high-quality, proactive customer service.
  • Develop expertise in relation to products and industries by maintaining current knowledge about supplier products and services to provide updated information and respond quickly and accurately to customer requests.
  • Develop expertise in relation to regulations by maintaining current knowledge about laws and regulations to provide updated information and respond quickly and accurately to customer and supplier requests.
  • Ensure the development of internal knowledge of quality and regulatory affairs, including systems used, by offering information sessions to members of other units.
  • Standardize and document procedures for carrying out work to ensure consistency and facilitate substitution.
  • Support other internal departments in handling customer and supplier requests to offer excellent customer service and develop privileged customer relationships.
  • Support the Quality and Regulatory Affairs Manager in implementing health and safety standards.
  • Support the Quality and Regulatory Affairs Manager in various projects or folders by performing tasks to meet deadlines, facilitate operational management compliance, and help Azelis achieve its objectives.
  • In the absence of the Quality and Regulatory Affairs Manager, assume responsibility for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) activities.
  • Provide internal support by performing all other assigned responsibilities, including occasional colleague replacement, to ensure Azelis respects its services and/or meets its objectives.
