The Quality and Continuous Improvement Specialist will ensure that all Rocket owned and leased/operated sites maintain a level of certification as deemed necessary (GMP, SQF, and ISO 9001). This means documenting and preparing each site annually for their audit and ensuring that all policies and rules are followed by all. This position is also responsible for product quality complaints and following up with vendors and carriers to develop corrective actions where necessary. Implementation of process improvements across the organization. Maintain certifications in the following areas: Six Sigma, HACCP principles, internal auditing, and general food safety.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in related field preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience, preferred
  • 5+ years in production and/or quality management role, preferred
  • Experience with BRC or SQF certification
  • Experience with ISO 9001 certification
  • Certified in HACCP Principles
  • Certified in Internal Auditing
  • Certified in Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Certified in General Food Safety

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all certifications SQF standard Storage and Distribution Food Contact Manufacturing GMP standard All rocket owned sites ISO 9001 standard ISO 9001 Quality Management System PDCA cycle (continuous improvement)
  • Participate in annual reviews of the Food Defense Plan, SQF audits, monthly GPM audits, and makes any and all adjustments based on the results of those events
  • Maintain document control of policies and procedures within Document Finder or Sharepoint, with appropriate approvals being followed for all changes
  • Stay informed and current regarding food safety and quality best practices
  • Process and fulfill compliance and regulatory requests
  • Maintain all belted certifications
  • Owner and master of the HACCP plan for Rocket (for each site)
  • Conduct annual audits of food contact packaging suppliers who are not certified in a GFSI recognized scheme
  • Conduct audits of internal Rocket facilities and prepare for certification as necessary
  • Act as Desk365 Super Admin and fulfill back-end requests as needed.
  • Maintain the Product and Compliance Pipeline with a high degree of responsiveness
  • Lead Value Stream Mapping and process improvement exercises
  • Conduct Green Belt Training Classes (2 times per year, or as interest dictates)
  • Primary lead on Corrective and Preventative Action Requests
  • Provide feedback for Supplier Scorecards
  • Provide accurate data in Desk365 tickets for reporting purposes
  • Ensure data integrity in Sage as it relates to Quality Contacts and contact information.
  • Conduct lean initiatives and projects
  • Conduct Six Sigma Black Belt data analysis as projects dictate
  • Coordinator of any recalls that may occur at Rocket Industrial
  • Primary lead for all food safety related policies and procedures
  • Maintain ISO 9001 QMS manual and monitor all required trainings for Rocket Industrial employees through Paycom learnings
  • Other duties as assigned
