About The Position

This position is responsible for leading and managing plant wide efforts regarding quality, process control, and continuous improvement. Supports the overall plant goals in all areas including safety, quality, productivity, and cost. Day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to: ensuring adherence to daily product control measures; analyzing historical trends and facilitating corrective actions; supplier management of incoming raw material; overall function of the quality lab including supervision of the quality technicians.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, materials) or related field.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certified and experienced in SPC.
  • Experience managing people, multiple priorities and projects.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office products.
  • Experience with Quality System software.
  • Knowledge and extensive working experience and utilization of statistical process control (SPC) methods and analysis.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Fiberglass production.
  • Experience in the fiberglass industry including raw materials and glass chemistry, batching, furnace operations, sizing, fiber forming, and fiberglass mat production is preferred.
  • All training necessary to stay current in the areas of quality and statistical process control methods and analysis including six sigma and lean.
  • Maintain knowledge of developments in fiberglass manufacturing via publications and industry conferences and seminars.

Responsibilities

  • Must have the ability & willingness to perform at the expected level of attendance at MW/MB; to work every day, on time, as scheduled.
  • Promote and maintain MW/MB safety goals and ensure a safe work environment for all employees. Leads safety and housekeeping efforts and corrective actions within assigned projects and areas. Exemplifies safety in all actions and leads by example.
  • Leads and manages the plant's quality system by implementing and monitoring quality control procedures and utilizing SPC methods for both incoming raw materials and finished products.
  • Promotes a prevention oriented, data driven, quality system and culture by being the subject matter expert for systematic problem solving and documentation.
  • Use, promote, train and facilitate Six Sigma tools and DMAIC problem solving.
  • Communication with customers and suppliers regarding product quality reporting and quality concerns.
  • Leads and directs the Quality Lab to include process ownership and documentation, supervision of technicians and management of lab equipment and software.
  • Participate in joint technical meetings between customers, suppliers, and other facilities.
  • Requires contact access after business hours for abnormal production/quality events.
