About The Position

This position is for the quality and self-assessment support within the Nuclear Engineering Overhaul Engineering Division. The ideal candidate will have experience evaluating quality data for a large organization with varying products and formats. The ability to conduct data analytics to identify trends and develop reports is a plus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 1 years of relevant professional experience
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
  • US Citizenship Required
  • Interim Clearance Required To Start

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses.
  • Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards.
  • Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.
  • Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
  • Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications.
  • Evaluate quality escapes within engineering for trends and recommended corrective actions.
  • Develop Quality Flashes to highlight quality escapes as a lesson learned.
  • Maintain engineering division demographics.
  • Maintain critical skill demographics.
  • Support balancing of the Nuclear Work Model with management of stakeholder observations and ensures corrective actions are effective.
  • Support various training initiatives.
  • Compile information in preparation for various audits.
