About The Position

Suno is seeking a Qualitative UX Researcher for a 6-month contract to focus on the user experience of their mobile apps. This role involves understanding how both casual users and professionals interact with Suno, what drives their engagement, and identifying areas for improvement. The researcher will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to integrate user feedback into product development decisions. The position requires the ability to scope, execute, and synthesize research rapidly to match the fast pace of product development. Ideal candidates will be self-driven and thrive in an environment with high ownership and intensity.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industry experience in UX research, with a strong focus on qualitative methods in fast-paced, embedded product environments.
  • BA or equivalent experience in HCI, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, or a related field.
  • Deep expertise in qualitative research design, execution, and synthesis.
  • A track record of research that drove product decisions, with the ability to point to specific features, pivots, or roadmap shifts shaped by their work.
  • Comfortable working with quantitative data alongside qualitative findings.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach, building genuine thought partnerships with PMs and designers.
  • A proactive, flexible mindset, comfortable navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, very tight timelines, and a fast pace of output.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US.
  • Must be willing to work 40 hours per week.
  • This is an in-person role working at their LA office location 5 days per week.

  • Experience in being the single researcher at a startup.
  • Experience in mobile consumer apps related to audio, social, and music.
  • Proficiency with AI and generative technologies in product experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end qualitative research, including interviews, usability tests, and diary studies, primarily for mobile experiences, but also for web and platform.
  • Develop and deploy surveys to complement qualitative findings and provide lightweight validation for hypotheses.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to scope research, identify learning goals, and quickly synthesize findings into actionable insights.
  • Deliver research at the speed of the product team, ensuring findings are available in time to shape decisions.
  • Advocate for the user across all touchpoints, from onboarding to creator tools to content discovery.
  • Help establish and evolve research best practices and scalable processes to support rapid experimentation and growing demand.
